Color inspiration from Emil Nolde's pictures

We meet at the Emil Nolde museum and soak up a lot of color inspiration from his artworks. He was a true master of the use of colors often motifs from his flower garden and seascapes.

In the knitting room, you study the color inspirations closely, find suitable yarn and wrap fine stripes on cardboard.

The new colour combinations are tested on the knitting needles in all possible stripes. Stripes with a little weave, stripes with different types of yarn, stripes with texture, stripes where the colors merge like watercolor...

Get good tricks to avoid “notches” in color changes by stripes.

Whether you are new to knitting needles or practiced knitters, everyone can participate.

**Participants must bring: **

\ - A basket full of yarn residues in all kinds of colors, but especially faver you like.

\ - Knitting tools and knitting needles in different thicknesses ex needle 3,5mm — 6mm

Dorthe brings cardboard for winding samples as well as description of techniques.

**About the Educator: **

Dorthe often finds inspiration in nature, art, historical patterns or stock prices. She cares about the whole process and uses the inspiration for experiments in many textile samples. Some samples turn into knitting patterns, home interiors, teaching materials or end up in a lecture.

Dorthe has previously been a high school teacher for 12 years at Skals High School for Design and Needlework. Since 2022 she has been working freelance with lectures, teaching, design assignments and exhibitions with Danish artisans and designers.
