Learn to make your own buttons in the same yarn as your knitwear. We use a polyester disc as the base for our buttons.
Stitched and crocheted buttons “tone in tone”
In this course, you will learn how to make your own buttons in the same yarn as your knitwear. We work with a small polyester disc as the base for lined buttons, so the result is stable, durable and visually integrated into your work.
You will learn that:
• Sew a button with buttonhole stitches
• Sew a button with decoration/pattern at the edge
• Crochet a flat button
• Crochet a dome-shaped button
The course is aimed at knitters and crocheters who want a uniform, complete expression — where the buttons match the finished project in both material and colour. You don't have to know the techniques beforehand; the main thing is that you can follow a recipe and feel like learning new, simple but impactful details.
**About the educator: **
Kristín Brynja was born and raised in Iceland but now lives in Denmark. Since 2013, she has been producing her own yarns in wool and silk under the name einrúm. The minerals in Icelandic nature are an important source of inspiration behind the colours in the yarns. Kristín graduated as an interior designer from the Danish School of Design and an architect from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, which is often reflected in her design process. Modern Nordic minimalism and thoughtful details are the hallmarks of her expression.
