Historical knitwear

In this workshop, Astrid gives an introduction to working with historical knitted items.

Participants can then examine for themselves a collection of knitwear from the 1950s (from Astrid's personal collection). It's women's underwear and baby clothes. By doing knitting tests, you can see if the analysis of the construction of the objects is correct, and it may take a few more attempts before cracking the code.

**NOTE: Coffee and breakfast bun will be served at the start of the workshop. **

**Participants must bring: **

Bring yarn of your choice to knit samples of, preferably bright so that it is easy to see, and needles to match.

Astrid Colding Sivertsen works both with plant dyeing and exploring historical knitwear from the 1950s.
