Bead knit and hole pattern

In this course, we work with several basic and more advanced techniques in the field of structure and hole knitting.

**Description/body text: **

We knit a sample back and forth with bead knitwear at the edges and hole pattern in the middle. The hole pattern can be varied in difficulty, allowing both beginners and more experienced participants to be challenged at their level.

The course focuses on how to build a clean and stable expression in edges and transitions: Ribbed edges are knitted at the beginning and at the end of the sample, and in order to prevent the bead knitting from contracting at the rib pattern, we knit shortened needles in the first and last needles at the edge of the bead knit.

Along the way, you will learn two different methods of knitting crochet stitches, which make the hole pattern easier to work with from the right side. These methods will help you maintain an even and uniform hole pattern without losing the rhythm of your knitwear.

You will learn that:

• Rib knit

• Bead knitwear

• Shortened pegs in pearl knitwear

• Hole pattern in different levels of difficulty

• Edge with two stitches

• Two methods of crochet stitches, which make the hole pattern easier to knit

• Fix hole pattern errors

The course is aimed at knitters who want to strengthen their technical understanding and refine details of their needlework, whether the goal is samples, shawls, sweaters or other projects with a combination of structure and hole pattern.

**About the Educator: **

Kristín Brynja was born and raised in Iceland but now lives in Denmark. Since 2013, she has been producing her own yarns in wool and silk under the name einrúm. The minerals in Icelandic nature are an important source of inspiration behind the colours in the yarns. Kristín graduated as an interior designer from the Danish School of Design and an architect from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, which is often reflected in her design process. Modern Nordic minimalism and thoughtful details are the hallmarks of her expression.
