Weave fabric

Weave knitting, sometimes called mosaic knitting, is a technique of taking stitches loosely off to create either solid color texture patterns or geometric color patterns.

In this workshop, we focus especially on multicolored woven fabric. It's nice, fun and surprisingly easy. Although multicolored patterns are created, you only knit with 1 color per needle. This means that it is not necessary to keep track of several yarns in the hands simultaneously, and it is also easier to achieve uniform knitting strength than with traditional multicolour (fair-isle and jacquard).

Henni will talk about the weaving knitting technique and show examples of the type of patterns that can be knitted, and then she will help the participants start trying out multicolored weaving knitting for themselves.

There will be an opportunity to see and feel the many projects that Henni has knitted up in woven fabric such as: sweaters, shawls, necklaces and hats. We will also discuss color choices, and Henni will be happy to help you choose your very first woven knit project.

Knitting needles size 4 mm
Yarn in 2 contrasting colors, 1 light and 1 dark

**About the Educator: **

Henriette Schwarz, better known as Henni, is the woman behind Strik with Henni. Knit med Henni is an online knitting community, a webshop and a knitting blog. Knitwear has an amazing property to bring us together, across age, other hobbies and socio-economic backgrounds. She loves it, which is why she has created a community where you have the opportunity to learn from each other and not least inspire each other. Every year she organizes a series of online knitalongs, where the focus is on helping new knitters get through well and making sure that easy knitters get to try new techniques. One of her favorite techniques is weaving, which allows you to play with several colors, even if you do not have much knitting experience.
