Felt your own skin incl. lunch

When a sheep is sheared, the hem sits together in one piece. If the sheep is sheared late or has wool of a quality that fits well together, it is possible to felt the back of the hem to create a 'skin' without the animal being dead. It will be possible to choose from many beautiful pieces of wool, and all participants will receive a fine product with them.

12:30 — 2:00 p.m.: Lunch

The techniques of carding and wet felting will be taught. This workshop works well outdoors as there is quite a bit of water involved. No prior knowledge is required to participate. During the workshop we will talk about the Hedestrik project; wool, sheep, heathland landscape and sustainability.

Since we work with water, it might be nice to wear an apron and maybe rubber boots.

Participants each get a seat skin and there is an opportunity to buy more skins (200 kr each) if you finish the first one quickly:)

**About the Educator: **

Hedestrik is a wool community that teaches wool, dogmestrik, plant colour and felt. Hedestrik wants to spread the use of Danish wool through the availability of wool crafts. Through their workshops, they focus on all the Danish wool, which is too often left unused as a waste product by sheep farmers - in fact, more than half of it is burned. In Hedestrik's teaching, they focus on wool from an environmental and climate perspective, and want to challenge commercial yarn production. The workflow with wool occurs most often in large factories and far from the consumer. Heat knitting will make product manufacturing transparent and give people the feeling that they can do it themselves.
